Great Weekend at Alabama Skydiving Center

The cloudy skies at the Alabama Skydiving Center were not enough to keep skydivers from jumping this weekend. Skydivers were able to take to the sky at about 1 pm making 4 successful loads by the end of the day. Local skydivers gave a big welcome back to Kyle League after his knee surgery. Glad your feeling better Kyle!

Ken Knight performed a successful coaching skydive with Daniel Dippolito. Getting closer to those A licenses! Once nightfall hit, Gary Saunder showed up but kept it low due to a case of bronchitis...guess there will be no howling at the moon this weekend!

On Sunday, Laura Jonikas performed her 100th jump. Way to go Laura! It was a very successful 10 way tracking skydive with Rob Morris, Lyle Stewart, Jeff Fincher, Rachael Hutchens, Nichole Odom, Dereck Griffin, Chuck Staten, Belynda Adams and Dan Vesenko. GOOD JOBS GUYS! And guess who got pied? Yes, Laura Jonikas got pied with 2 plates filled with shaving cream!

Tray Edwards is getting closer to getting his A license working on coach jumps with Ken Knight. Your getting there Tray! Jeff Fincher had his first cutaway on a 5,500 hop n pop. Landing his reserve on his feet, he did a pretty good job! Since Nichole Odom is only 2 jumps away from her 100th jump, a great big pie will be waiting for her when she returns to jump at the Alabama Skydiving Center… Shhh!

Great weekend guys, lots of fun and successful skydives! With so many people close to getting their A licenses, the New Year vibe is kicking in! Let's go guys!
