Christmas Party!

Full loads were flown at the Alabama Skydive Center on Saturday, though jumpers were a little bit chilly! Ken Knight said, “I’m here to jump! No matter what the temperature is.” Now that is hardcore! Corn Jooste’s brother George came out to make his first skydive with us. This was Corn’s birthday present to his brother. On this skydive, Corn had a little something up his sleeve, as can be seen by the picture!  After the sun set, everyone boarded the Caravan to fly over to our big sister dropzone in Cedartown, GA for their Annual Christmas party. It was great to see old friends! Jumpers bundled up for a cold ride home in the airplane, but thoroughly enjoyed riding in the plane rather than making the drive! Thanks to our wonderful owners for the Christmas presents! The new staff sweatshirts are great.

Sunday was a great day for experienced jumpers at Pell City. We launched 3 large hybrid attempts. The first one had Gary Saunders, Ken Knight, Amy Gravlee and Nick Raines in the base, with Mike Sweet, Laura Morris, Rob Morris and Thad Rice hanging underneath. It was the closest attempt thus far at pulling this off! Jumpers kept each other going through this chilly day with exciting jumps planned for each load. The day was ended with a sunset tracking dive led by Thad Rice.

A reminder to all: The Alabama Skydive Center will be closed December 23-24 for the Holidays. But come join us the next weekend to bring in the New Year!

Stay posted for when the time changes, we will be holding a canopy course at the Alabama Skydive Center taught by Rob Morris and Chuck Owen.
