Farewell Boogie!

Thanks to everyone who came out and jumped at our Farewell Boogie! Full caravan loads were flown from 8:30 AM to 7 PM! Birdman suits were jumped, 4 ways were built and lots of freeflying went on. 120 skydives were made on Saturday. Everyone enjoyed the $16 lift tickets. Congratulations to Allison Rogers Dinner at Sammies was eventful as always. Our military friends from Maxwell Airforce Base were sad that this was their last weekend at the Alabama Skydive Center. Back at the dropzone, the festivities began with a line of people who needed to be pied. Allison Rogers, Chris Martin and Jesse Alne. A pie 'firing squad' was set up and everyone took their turns throwing pies at the newest graduates and 100 jump wonders! Steve Alsobrook brought a huge supply of fireworks and the party began! Laura Morris won the keg stand competition, and our poor Porta-John took some hits from the fireworks. The party went on late into the night.

Not late enough though to keep everyone from waking up at 7AM to get the first load going on Sunday. 150 skydives were made on Sunday! A 10 way tracking dive was led by Laura Morris. Marc Seitz and Rob Morris went on a freefly skydive. Birdman Rich Young and Mike Sweet did some 2 way birdman jumps! Congrats to Wes Guinn on graduating AFF and a happy birthday to his mom for making her first skydive! Good job to Colin Reily for passing AFF levels 2 and 3. Katherine Whitwell came out and thought about skydiving.
John Hall and Sandy Carruth made some 2 way RW skydives together, and John you sure do have a slow fall rate now!

Farewell to all of our Maxwell Airford Base military friends who came out and jumped with us over the last month. Good job to Alex Longyear who made the most skydives out of the group; 51 in 4 weekends.
